VOLUME 11 – NUMBER 493
Prom group photo
So, Gloria and I went to Prom! Hazel did say yes, and her response was so cool. Because she was a bit late in responding, she delivered her response with a stuffed animal owl (Harry Potter’s way of sending letters), and explained that her owl got lost and that’s why the response was late.
The prom day date was so fun. First, we went to Aiden's house to make bracelets. I didn't do anything special, just the word PROM spelled out with the beads with letters. Hazel helped me put it on.
After snacking and talking while we made bracelets, we went to Altitude trampoline park. We started off by jumping of some trampolines into a giant air pillow. Then we went to the WALL and all made it up there... at least most of us. We played some dodgeball together, and my team was unbeatable! We then had a tournament knocking each other off a balancing beam. I lost right off the bat.

After an hour at Altitude we went to McDonalds and ate lunch. We then figured out that I had danced with Hazel on Trek, and they had a photo with Me, Gloria, and Hazel in it, before we even moved to the 5th Ward!
After Lunch we went to Scheels. Hazel ended up scaring me with a squeaky cow that sounded like a pig, and we both hugged a rubber chicken. Then we went on the indoor ferris wheel. That was fun because we were both pretty scared about being at the top, but my fear wore off faster than hers, so I slightly but effectively rocked the seat back and forth, and she screamed!
When we were done at Scheels, we dropped everyone off, and all got ready for the dance. Once I was ready, I walked up to Aiden's house, to wait for when we needed to go. We picked everyone up, took pictures, and then we all got in the van, and tried to warm up.
Monte and Hazel at Scheels
We ate dinner at a place called The Pie Pizzeria. We walked out on a red carpet with Brother Veihweger, and Andrew Veihweger as our chauffeurs (Rick and Rick), and when we got inside, a guy was actually surprised we were high school students, which means we passed off as adults!
We then ate some delicious pizza, and were stuffed to the brim. On the way to the state capitol. Hazel then fell asleep on my shoulder during the ride...after she had said she couldn't fall asleep before the dance.
Monte, Hazel, Riley, and Gloria at the Pie
Then we got there and we walked up the steps into the state capitol. The dance was alright but they only played like two slow dance songs so that was a bummer, but we still had so much fun.
The last song before we left early was probably the best one because we were able to sing our heads off. It was Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus.
After the dance we went back to Aiden's house to chill, and Hazel fell asleep on my shoulder again, this time I fell asleep too. When we got to Aiden's house we watched an episode of Psych, and everyone was practically asleep by then. We then dropped everyone off at their houses, and ended a great night.

This week I have been preparing for prom. It's coming so soon. I had to buy everything that I needed.
Saturday finally came! At around 9:00am they were picking everyone up. I was the first one to be picked up for the day date. In our group we had Bridger Zimmerman and Airy, Elizabeth Lemon and Aiden Viehweger, Monte and Hazel Tapia, And Riley and I.
The first thing we did was make bracelets at Aiden's house. Then we went to Altitude. After we went to McDonalds for lunch, we headed to Scheels. We walked abound for a little bit and Riley bought me a few shirts and a hoodie.

Right before we left we went on the Ferris wheel. Then we headed home so everyone could get ready for pictures, dinner and the dance.
Once we everyone was picked up we went to Falcon Ridge and took the photos. It was so cold! Then we went to the pizza place. Riley and I each got a calzone. They were so big, we each had a lot left. The dance was really fun. It was so crowed. Riley and I walked around a lot. Before we left we all went on the balcony and took some pictures and slow danced.
Then we went to Aiden's house and relaxed and watched Psych until we had to go home. I really had a enjoyable time with Riley, and our group was super fun to be with.
Thank you Mom and Dad for letting us go!
Girls on balcony of State Capitol
We went over to the Ashton's house to make some pizza's. They were so delicious, and I had tons! We played a few hand games, and I had a great time.
Once we got home, we cleaned up the house a bit, and then Dad unlocked the computers, so we could play a game called Doors that we all really like.
As the cherry on the top, my teacher gave me a huge Twix bag because I was doing so well in school, thank you Ms. Mecham!

Veidi had a cool idea to give out some coupons and I got one that was for a free lunch with her if I would drive. We finally went last week and it was awesome! We went to Spitz for some Mediterranean food and it was fun to sit and catch up with her and enjoy some good food together. Thanks Veidi!

We went go go and visit the Ashton's and we had pizza and we played zoom it was really fun. When we got home we we had to get ready for Rex to go home and wait for a Australian shepherd named Nala to come after Rex went home.

I'd like to bear my testimony. I know that Jesus can bless people, and help people through pets. I know that Heavenly Father has sent prophets to help us. I know that Joseph Smith found and taught others about the gospel. President Nelson has helped us by teaching us about Jesus.
Joanna
We went to our cousins house. I got to make my own PIZZA!!! It was delicious! Well after I got to eat, Zelaia wanted to show me her room. We got to play with tons of toys! I love my cousins.

This week while Monte and Gloria were at prom, we cleaned the house really good, and then had quesadillas with pulled pork inside them, and Mango Sunkist soda to drink. Then we watched The Office, while we were eating. It's pretty funny, especially the pranks between Dwight and Jim.
Visiting with the Ashton family
This week we invited my niece, Ruby, over for a playdate with Ellie. It’s always interesting when Ellie and Ruby get together because they are either best friends, or they are bothering or hurting one another. Luckily they got along well this time.
It was funny because they like to copy each other. When Ellie said she had to go potty, Ruby said she had to go. When Ruby coughed, Ellie “coughed” and they were trying to out cough each other. It was fun to watch them play and it was good for Ellie to practice sharing since that is something she struggles with.

We went to the temple twice this week and had a zone conference. And had some pretty amazing visits with some people, where the spirit was guiding every word said.
Something I love to help people understand is that science and the gospel go hand in hand. I love helping them see the reality of the gospel, because then religion stops being tradition and becomes a reality.
There's so many take aways from having that in mind. When we stop looking at religion as a tradition, and for what it is—a reality—good things are not weird or "not for me", and we are much more open to do them!

There's no limit to the amount of good we can do and the different ways to do it. If something's good, than it comes from God. If it's against his commandments, it's obviously bad, and the results of doing that thing will only bring dissatisfaction and sadness.
I like helping people understand that the same being that wrote the law of gravity wrote that faith in Christ will save you. Then we have a choice to believe whether that law is real or not, but our choice doesn't change the reality. Just as if I were to stop believing in gravity and jump off a building, the results are as they are.
I'm grateful the the gospel that really is just the truth as it was, is, and will be.
Caleb in church
I know Jesus Christ is real and that if we keep on going to the path, that we will have eternal life and happiness, and that if you go down the wrong path you could totally come back to the right path. It is called repentance, and I know that Jesus died for us, and that we will meet him when we die and go to heaven.

Since we’ve both been sick the past couple of weeks, we’ve had to find ways to entertain ourselves while at home. Cougar has a collection of all the Calvin and Hobbes comics, so we go through and read those every now and then. I thought I would share a funny one that we read recently! Hope you enjoy!
