VOLUME 11 – NUMBER 502

Emerson, Selvin, Yarima at Yesica’s party

This week I also helped my friend’s husband plan her surprise birthday party. We just had a small get together at her house and had some really good food! I’m glad she was surprised and looked happy to have her family and friends there.

I also decided to pick up a new hobby because I found myself having some extra time on some days. I started to learn how to do amigurumi, which is like 3D crocheting. I went back to the single crochet I learned to do in my home ec class in middle school, and went from there. It was a rough start but I believe that I am getting the hang of it.

Yarima’s new hobby: Amigurumi

This week has been  really fun. I was able to go the the Hale Center Theater and watch Hello Dolly with is like a girl version of the movie, Hitch, but from a long time ago. I really enjoyed the play a lot.

Also, Riley Danielson came over On Thursday night and talked to Mom and Dad. They had the rest of us (even me!) got downstairs while they talked with him. Riley asked them if he could become my boyfriend, and they said yes.

After they talked I came up, I was super nervous to know what happened. After they talked and we had dinner, Riley and I went to his house I and I talked to his parents, and we told them. They said, “Finally. it happened.” After we talked we watched Top Gun Maverick and later we talked about our goals.

I just finished school, and I can't wait to get started on my summer projects! I don't quite have a full idea of what I want to do for the summer, but I'm sure I'll have one soon!

Recently I've just been relaxing around, and playing legos with Troy and Quinn. Being one of the first ones done with school means that you've got a lot a lot more "chores" to do.

Even though I wasn't the first one done with school this year, I usually always make lunch while everyone else is either usually in their room alone, or playing Legos. The peeps that are done with school are, Glory, Troy, Veidi, and I.

This week Mom trained two puppies named Jeffery and Lewis, and I helped train them with her. They are so cute and super fluffy. They are really smart, playful, and nice. I like to train puppies, mostly because they learn pretty quickly.

This week we went to see Hello Dolly. It is very fun and funny because the main actress is trying to help, but she is getting in everybodies relationships, and in their lives trying to help. It was a great play because you learned about everyone’s stories.

Ellie and her cousin Ruby

I had the chance this week to take Ellie and my niece Ruby out with me to run some errands. They did a great job, so we made a stop at Wendy’s afterwards to get Frosties. They’re two little cuties!

On Saturday, Brooke and I were able to make a trip down to Columbia, SC to do an endowment session. We’ve been trying to be more consistent with how often we go, even though it’s a two-hour drive one way. The session was great and the birria tacos we got afterwards were delicious!

Happy Star Wars Day y’all! May 4th is “Star Wars Day” because when you say the date, May the 4th, it sounds like “May the force.” I didn't do much to celebrate, except put on my Star Wars t-shirt that Cougar got me for a birthday present last year.

Work has been alright, but its been a bit stressful. I can't wait till summer cleaning starts, and then I will be paid the big bucks, and summer cleaning is just so relaxed and fun. “May the fourth be with you!”

I haven't done much with my roommates since moving into Raintree Apartments almost a year ago, but this week they invited me to go with them to Top Golf. My roommate Luke has a reward with his work where they allow him to go regularly with a group and so he decided to take us this time.

It was really good to spend time with them, especially since TJ has moved out, and he was the one roommate I actually knew pretty well. He's in Alabama for the summer. It was a great evening.

At work, we had our annual supervisor conference this week. This is where all training supervisors along with all three-fourths and full-time employees get together for a four-hour training day. Last year we had it in the Tanner building and it was just the English area, while this year it was all languages, so we did it on the MTC campus.

We had lunch at the MTC cafeteria as well, which was kind of cool. It felt like going we were a missionary district again. It is crazy to me because it has been exactly two years since I started working at the MTC. I have loved my time here so far!

Caleb and Elder Miranda with three converts

As I’m writing this, we are at the hospital for my companion, so I thought I'd take advantage and write you a letter, something that I haven't been too good at.

This week I asked Mom and Dad for any suggestions for remembering and not loosing things learned? I feel like I've earned a lot but I don't want to loose it with time.

Expressing myself or doing so clearly or naturally is a problem of mine. Honestly, I feel like I've been able to improve tons, but I also asked them for suggestions in this area as well.

There's a billion different social situations that exist, but when talking in conversations, something that I am trying to do better is to always have a purpose in mind of helping who you're talking with, and or looking for help with personal goals.

Ha ha! There are tons of things that if I could have learned them even younger, I would have been so much better off, especially a few things I know you guys always stressed and fought for us to learn.

I feel humbled by my mission, but not in a bad way. I feel like I have just barely learned or realized the importance of needs and resolutions. It sounds kind of silly but it's something I’m only starting to put together.

I love you guys! And whatever advice or counsel you'd like to share with me I'd love it!

School is almost done with, but I'm not done with all my classes. School ends on May 11. I am pretty close to being done though. I am going to be so excited when I am finished, because then I will be done with the 11th grade, and next year I won't have to take math! I can't wait.

BYU does not wait to get students back in the classroom, once Winter semester is over! I got Monday off and was back in classes for the start of spring semester on Tuesday.

I'm taking World Civilizations II. It's basically a world history class from the year 1500 onward. I'm not a history buff—I often forget what happened last month!

My GE (general education) credits are doing their job, stretching me in all the ways I never would have chosen. Fortunately for me, Endia loves history, and she is there to help me out!
