VOLUME 11 – NUMBER 510

London and roommates in San Diego

My freshman roommates and I have been talking about going on another trip together. We hadn't done anything since right after our freshman year when we went to San Diego. Well, we decided that it would be fun to go back there, and I was determined to make it happen...and it finally did!

We ended up staying with Danielle's aunt and uncle, which was so nice of them to let us spend a couple of days with them. We drove out there and just enjoyed some fun time on the beach and eating delicious food.

I realized that I haven't done a lot of fun things with these friends recently. We usually just talk when we get together, so I enjoyed getting out and being goofy and having a blast with them again. I also just love the beach, and I feel like it makes my soul happy to be in the water and riding the waves!

We just got the FNAF game (Five Nights At Freddys) on the VR. Monte bought it. I was so excited to play it, but me and Veidi had to go and get the Milch’s dogs, Libby and Gunther, and exercise them before we could play.

When we were finished with them, they were pretty tired, because we ran them home, and then we ran them through the obstacle course that Mom made in the backyard. Then we ran them up and down the stairs, and finally returned them back to the Milch’s house.

When we came back, Veidi was to scared to play the game, and so was I at first. It was the most scariest thing I have been through in a long time, and I was so scared that I was shaking the whole time!

On the game, I survived the night, and was so glad, but then they tricked me by saying that there was a tape recorder outside the door. When I went out to get it, Foxy jump-scared me, and I was so scared!

Running dogs through the obstacle course

Monte bought Five Nights at Freddy’s on the VR, and he made me do it. It was so horrifying—I was so scared!

Then, when the Olders came to visit, Cougar did it, and he was so chill about it, but the rest of us were scared.

Then Monte and Gloria scared Troy so much by having him do a second night in the game. They had him look out the door to get a record tape. When he looked out, there was no record tape out there, but they did that to get him jumped scared from an animatronic that popped up!

Ward youth temple trip

This Wednesday we had a temple trip with the ward. Herbert and I were the only priests there, so we got to baptize all the youth. I baptized Dominic, Hazel, George (my trek brother), and Tylor (George's actual brother).

We had to go to work immediately after that, so Gloria and I went in in our Sunday clothes. After that, Hazel came over to the house to hang out with Gloria to watch a movie.

I then got the Oculus out because she had never tried VR, so we put her through a roller coaster, and she went through it calmly.

I then realized that now that the Oculus was out again for the first time in a while, I knew it was my chance to get the game Five Night's at Freddy's: Help Wanted. It's just as scary as the first time I played. I also love seeing the reactions of everyone that plays, and how scared they get.

This week I got to go grab lunch with an old mission friend named Daniel Crane. We went to the restaurant called Raising Cane's in memory of our time in Mesa.

For those of you that don't know, down in Mesa, the Raising Cane's is on the other side of the street of the southern boundary of the mission, so we never really got to go there.

However, members would frequently ask if they could pick a meal up for us, and that was probably the #1 most requested thing, since it was just outside of our boundary. So it was great to catch up with him!

Later that night I went with a couple people in our bishopric to the Cannon Center for a free meal. The high counselor over our ward has 21 free meals a week there, and he said he doesn't use all of his so he invited us to come with him one of the nights.

Ashton helped Joanna clean her room

Thursday night, my temple shift had a party! Since the temple is closed for cleaning right now, we all got together for a dinner and games. It was funny to see everyone in a different environment outside the temple, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it all turned out.

Friday was the second night of the Lord of the Rings marathon, and I'm glad Braden has been putting that together, since the movies are way better than I remember them being.

Saturday was our family pool party with Dad's side of the family, which again resulted in a competition off the diving board. However, this time is was shooting shots from the diving board into the hoop! Surprisingly most of us that were trying ended up making the shot!

Extended Hill family get-together

Since I have started feeling better I realized how much time I have, now that I am not working. I had the idea to have a couple of siblings over to spend a few days. The catch is that the week would be a Spanish week!

Isaac and Kai came over and we spent a lot of time speaking Spanish, teaching how to use verbs and building vocabulary. It helped me a lot to practice and we had a lot of fun playing a lot of games together and learning the Spanish we needed for each game.

Gloria and Monte at the family get-together

Last week Hazel and I talked about the movie Cinderella with Camila Cabello, and I invited her to come over and watch it with us. We went to  pick her up after we got back from free lunch at the park.

Camila said that she really liked it a lot. After the movie was over we talked for awhile and then she tried the VR.

On Friday Monte got the game Five Nights at Freddy’s VR game and I was so excited to play it. Later Riley came over to get me for out date before we left he tried the game and he was freaking out the whole time.

When we left to his house, and we made some homemade pizza. Riley's dad cooked it in his smoker, and it tasted even better smoked.

Then after we ate, we talked and played on his trampoline. On Saturday, we had a get together with Dad's side of the family.

Kai

We had a party in Aunt Amy's backyard. Dad's side of the family came for this get-together. I mostly swam in the pool, because it was super relaxing.

We had Sloppy Joe's for dinner, which were prepared by Mom (I think). They were super good. After dinner, I went back into the pool to swim a little bit more. It's fun being with family and friends, and just hanging out. I had an awesome time!

Caleb at temple with recent converts

I went to the temple again! This time with the branch, and we did baptisms for the dead with two recent converts, Shaiel and Joaquin!

Shaiel is so awesome. It's insane how fast and almost out of the nowhere that he came from. He was so excited to go to the temple and serve those who have already died.

On Sunday he had his first opportunity to use his priesthood by blessing the sacrament. Then in that same meeting he got up and bore his testimony about the temple!

And in his testimony he expressed that he wants to be a missionary! He's been wanting to acompany is on visits, so tonight took him with us to visit people, and we saw so many miracles! His testimony is so strong and so genuine.

Elders Hill and King

Like I always say, it's crazy that God blesses us so much by letting us serve with Him in his great work. It's so great. The church is true, and it has the most important truths to be learned. I love it, and I hope all of you can love it too as much as I do!

God blesses us so much! Please everyone, just trust Him, and do as He asks. He loves us and is real. And believe it or not, we are his people here on earth, even though our numbers might seem small. I know this is true.

If someone's reading thus and doesn't know that it is true yet, I invite you to read the scriptures and pray about it. I promise that He will answer.

It's worth it to read and to pray. This gospel, when learned, gives a joy and happiness beyond comprehension. I love you guys!

Caleb and Elder King with district

We have recently fully committed ourselves to me quitting at AtlasRTX. Instead, I will work as an adjunct professor at BYU, along with growing our dog training business, I am feeling excited, but also a little nervous.

It just so happens that May and June were lower months for MyPack revenue, and after hitting a slow patch, I asked Heavenly Father if He could help us pick up on the number of clients, especially since we are going to be depending even more on this income soon.

Veidi watching dogs

Now Heavenly Father doesn’t always give us exactly what we want, when we want it, but in this case, almost immediately, I ended up booking several new clients, and about half of them booked two-week trainings, instead of our normal one-week.

That has been a great blessing for us financially, but it also means that Jenny has stayed quite busy lately. Thank you, Jenny and Veidi for all your hard work! It has not been uncommon for us to have seven or even eight dogs in the house on any given day!
