VOLUME 11 – NUMBER 523
Ashton and Elder Leakehe at mission reunion
Friday night was our mission reunion and the highlight was definitely the fact that my past companion, Elder Leakehe, who was supposed to be back in Hawaii showed up out of nowhere! It was a ton of fun, and a lot of us stayed after to play volleyball.
General conference on Saturday was awesome! London hosted a pumpkin waffle party during the first session, and then I went home with all the kiddos for the afternoon session.
Then during the evening Amy and Keith hosted the family for a pool party at their house. It was awesome and we had some great pickle ball games.
My bishop has requested I attend all the bishopric dinners they have, since I have a way of making sure everyone feels included with no awkward silence instead of conversations. So on Tuesday I went to one of those for our ward, and afterwards had real dinner at Endia and Cougar’s house.
Also, I had some big plans this week for work, but unfortunately I got sick on Thursday when we were supposed to have our big offsite activity at a cabin near Kamas, Utah.
Ashton’s mission reunion
October is here! And with it comes general conference. I had a really spiritual experience this conference. I had been feeling like I was missing something all week, and then one of the talks—I can't remember which one—talked about the blessings you receive from being a full tithe payer.
I then went immediately on to the church's website, and payed my tithing from my paycheck that I got on the 25th. And to be honest, things actually started to go better for me almost right after I payed my tithing. I have a firm belief that when you pay your tithing, you will be blessed for it.
Working a puzzle after conference
Lately, I've been getting kind of sick of our homemade pizza, so I decided to mix things up and make pizza sandwiches! Since our budget was low, I had to make homemade bread, which took a little bit of time, but made it all that much better! The sandwiches turned out amazing! The bread was really fluffy, and there was tons of sauce on them, which made them all so juicy!
Kai making bread
This week we watched a movie call The Road to El Dorado, which is such a hilarious movie, and everyone was laughing, including Dad. We also had pizza and some pizza sandwiches that Kai made with homemade bread, and just put the pepperoni's, cheese, and sauce on them. They tasted delicious! I hope Kai makes them every Monday.

For a couple days this week, Jenny had an offsite retreat in Midway, Utah, which is about an hour away, and she invited me to come with her. We spent a couple nights there, and while she attended her meetings, I worked in the hotel room. Each day I traveled down Provo Canyon to teach at BYU and then came back to Midway for the afternoon and evening. It was a nice getaway.
This week my parents sent me a couple photos of a get-together my mom and dad had with her siblings. For some reason, I really like this photo of my mom with her brothers and sisters. I’m sure my mom would agree that she has been very blessed to have the brothers and sisters she has. They look so good together!

Endia and I got together with Ashton, London, and some friends to have pumpkin waffles while watching conference. The waffles were so good! I don't know what London does to make such good syrup, let's just say if I learned her secret, my body would never forgive me.
After conference was over, we got together and played pickleball with my sisters and my mom. Endia is 26 weeks pregnant, but she's still got it! She won every game, and I lost every game, except when she was on my team.
Family playing games after conference
Me, Kai, and Gloria went with aunt Wendy and Kat (our cousin) to a play at Hale Centre Theatre, since Mom and Dad were gone for a couple days to Mom’s work thing. We went to go see Around the World in 80 Days.
One of the main characters was really funny and Aunt Wendy loved him! He would lift his hand to one section of the stage and then to the other side of the stage and each side would cheer him on, to see which side was louder.
But he did not do it to our section, so then Aunt Wendy was at the edge of her chair and she just yelled out, and the actor looked at her and did a what-in-the-world face. Aunt Wendy was the only one that did on our side! Me, Kai, Gloria, and Kat just started to laugh. It was super funny. I had a really fun time going with Aunt Wendy and Kat.

This week Mom and Dad left for a couple of days and we were left at home. While they were gone I did a lot of school and I was able to get ahead. When mom and dad came back we went to stake sports and I made a few new friends. They are from the 7th ward. For work we got a new head custodian because our other boss left.
General conference was great and I enjoyed it a lot more this time because the other times I did not want to listen. For the second session on Saturday Endia, Cougar, London, Ashton and Riley all came over to watch it with us. I invited Riley because he was home alone while his family was at a mountain bike race.
Miller family get-together at Nelson’s house
After the second session on Saturday, we played some games and cleaned up. At around 5:00pm we went to Aunt Amy's. Riley came with us. We had some J-Dawgs for dinner. After dinner I went swimming the water was so hot. It was nice at first because it was only Joanna, Quinn, and I only in the pool for a little while. Then Veidi and Riley came. After being in the pool for a while I started to get a headache and Riley and I got out because he started to get tired.
On Sunday I still had the headache from Saturday night and I was not feeling so good.

I know that Jesus lives, and that if we love one another, then we will love Jesus. If you say you love Jesus but you hate your brother, then you do not love Jesus.
Jesus said that we should love one another and teach them about Jesus, but if they refuse then you should still be nice to them and respect their beliefs.

This week was really special. We got out a lot and taught some awesome lessons. I'm still dealing with my leg but I was able to get out a lot everyday dispite it. It's worth it, I love teaching the gospel, I know it's true, I know the promises said by God are kept. I know God is real.
General conference was awesome. I'm grateful for a prophet and apostóles and for revelation. I felt inspired by President Nelson.
