VOLUME 12 – NUMBER 546

Troy’s birthday celebration

March 8 was my 12th birthday. To celebrate, Monte took me to Swig, and I got a “Riptide” drink with a birthday cookie and a Peanut butter cookie with some Pretzel Bites.

For lunch, we got Wendy’s. Each of us got a “Biggy Bag,” which has a cheeseburge, fries, nuggets, and a drink for each of us. We had a picnic lunch, and watched CHiPs while we ate our food.

Finally, for dinner we had macaroni and cheese. For my presents, I got a volleyball and some clothes. It was a great birthday!

For lunch on Troy's birthday, we had Junior-Bacon Cheeseburger Biggie Bags, which include small fries, chicken nuggets, and a small drink, all for a little over $5!

We ate our lunch as a picnic with cafeteria trays, and watched CHiPs. I love CHiPs! It's a good show to watch when you just want to relax.

The Biggie Bags were incredibly delicious! I love Wendy’s Junior Bacon Cheeseburger (or JBC as it is sometimes called)! Several months ago I tried a JBC, and now they are one of my favorite foods ever! How could I have lived without them for so long!?

Thank you Dad for getting us this lunch, and Happy Birthday, Troy!

Troy’s birthday celebration

Hold up! I just figured out the craziest thing ever! Once a week, starting in April, all eight of the Spider-Man movies from three different series are going to theaters, and I am going to go watch them all with Aiden. I can't wait!

The first one is going to be on 15th of April, so I've marked my calendar, and am gearing up to watch it.

I also took Riley and Gloria to Swig this week. We just got some drinks there, and then went to lunch at Wendy's. I really enjoy hanging out with them, and I also enjoy going and seeing some of my new friends at Swig!

Over the past several weeks, I have been teaching the grammar section of my class. This is a difficult part of the class for students, so I try to make it as enjoyable as possible.

For our last grammar class, I divide the class into teams, and we play a game to go through an in-class practice grammar exam. I put a bowl of candy on each team table to make it a little more fun. This week I had Quinn and Joanna help me get my candy bowls ready.

As I’ve gotten feedback from my students, they have been discouraged that can’t see correct answers to grammar quizzes after they take them. As I’ve talked to my director, she said it is because the department is afraid that those questions could make it on to cheat sheets for students.

To help my students, and to not compromise the department question banks, I decided to create my own grammar quiz questions, so that I can show the students which answers are wrong and what the right answers are, with a detailed explanation of why.

The challenge is that this has taken me scores of hours to put together—almost 200 questions that take about 20 minutes each. In the end, I just hope it will help me create a better experience for my students.

Family Home Evening activity

This week I had my final drive! I was super nervous about passing. I got there and there was another person who needed to do it. When It was my turn, I started to feel relaxed, and I passed on my first try. I still need to finish my hours, and then I can go the DMV and get my license!

On Wednesday, Caleb, Quinn, and I prepared a family home evening about having a strong foundation, and how to keep it strong by holding on to the iron rod and not letting go. Doing that lesson made reading my scriptures and study habits more enjoyable.

Thursday I got to hangout with Riley. We got some ice cream. Friday we celebrated Troy's birthday. I can't believe he is already 12 years old! We got Biggie Bags for lunch.

On Saturday, we had a visit. Only my mom and siblings were there. I have the best time talking with my mom and playing with my siblings who are so cute. When talking with my mom, I connected with her, and got caught up.

Playing Among Us remotely with family

This week we played a lot of Throw Throw Burrito. It is really fun, and I really like it because you gotta stay alert at all time, and be quick and fast and grab and dodge the burritos.

I won a couple of times, and there were some really cool duel moments where people caught the burritos, or got straight up hit, or both people missed. When this happens, they scramble to grab the ones that were dropped, so they can throw them again.

Mom is training a dog named Snoopy. He is really nervous. Before I met him, I imagined that he would be a small puppy, but he was not. He was a little bit taller than Misha. I was really surprised. When I went to pet him, his fur was super soft. I just wanted to keep touching it.

This week we had a visit with our mom. We went to Chick-fil-A and waited till she came. When she got there, we talked for a while.

When we were getting ready to leave, me and Gloria went to go and get Christian's shoes on. It was really hard to get his shoes on, so our conversation went like this:

Veidi: Gloria, his shoes are really hard to get on.
Gloria: Yeah they are.
Christian: I got you good.
Gloria: What did you say?
Christian: I got you real good!

Then we just started to laugh. I had a good time spending time with them.

Family on Capital Reef trip

Endia, Cougar, London, Baby Owen, and I went to Capital Reef on Saturday. It was a really nice quick trip out to the national park. The scenery was beautiful! I had never been before and was glad I got to experience it.

We ate at a curry pizza place on the way home, which was quite nice, especially after a long day of hiking.
