VOLUME 12 – NUMBER 547

Jen and family eating dinner

Kai

Spring break! It's really nice to take a break from school and take a week to relax! James and Israel came over for the weekend! They're just so cute! I love it when nieces and nephews come over! I love playing with them and making them laugh!

On Saturday, there was a baptism for Ryker Harcrow. Isaac and I stayed home to watch James, Israel, Quinn, and Joanna. We had a lot of fun with them!

We watched some shows with them. We also rolled them up like burritos in blankets, and had them see which one could get out first! I think they loved that! After they got out of their burritos, they told us to get on a blanket, so that they could wrap Isaac and I in them together!

It was so funny because everyone was struggling to get us in, and Isaac and I had to roll over each other to get fully wrapped, so we were laughing the whole time!

This week, our youth activity was a Bob Ross night. We watched a Bob Ross video, and then tried our best to copy his painting instructions. Everyone tried their best, and a lot of the paintings turned out better than expected!

I've been able to hang out with Aiden a bit more, and we are making something that I think I'll keep a surprise until it's finished.

All day Saturday, the boys and Dad made little felt clothes and painted wooden pegs, all for Dad's lesson in Sunday school on Sunday. I did the painting, and I am proud to say that I painted every single one of those wooden pegs.

After that I went to the Region Dance, and just had a blast with Aiden. Jace and Kade showed up, and we just had fun there.

I don't know why, but lately it's been harder for me to ask girls to dance. I want to dance with people, but something's been holding me back. I'm going to try to get over it next dance, and ask at least one girl to dance with me.

On Sunday, I really enjoyed Dad's lesson. He used a large cloth map of the world and the peg dolls we had created to teach about the scattering and gathering of Israel. It was super interactive, and just engaging all around. I really enjoy Dad being our teacher. Love you Dad.

For our activity we did a Bod Ross painting. Mine turned out alright I would say.

Work has been good. Jada has been gone because she just had a baby. I enjoy the work I have and the people I work with. We are also on spring break for school, and I'm trying to get as much school done. I am trying to finish early this year, so I have more of a summer.

On Saturday, the girls had a spa day up at London's. I had a fun time holding Sofia and doing Veidi's nails. I enjoy talking with the adults that were there.

We also had a region dance that night, and I drove to the dance. I had a fun time talking and dancing.

This week for our youth activity we did a Bob Ross painting and I really enjoyed it. I really like painting. I was surprised how it turned out. It was not as good as Monte's, but I really liked how it turned out.

The girls had a spa day and we did it at London’s house. Gloria did my nails and we watched You Again. Then after that, Mom dropped us off at the region dance, and I had fun.

One of my favorite parts was when Riley was singing the Mackarena, because he was shouting the words and he did not pronounce it wrong.

We had our first intramural tournament game this week, and we are moving on to the second round. We’ll see how it all goes. I think we have the potential to go pretty far, but you never really know after just one game.

One of my good friends came back to take a tour of the MTC with his girlfriend this week, and that is one of my favorite things I get to do in my position—giving people tours.

We were teachers together almost three years ago, and he is actually dating one of his past missionaries. I won’t comment on that at all, but it was interesting to hear their conversations about the MTC when he was her teacher.

Monte’s Sunday afternoon nap

On Tuesday I went with Gloria, Veidi, Monte, Isaac, and Kai to a painting activity using a Bob Ross video—painting a “Gray Winter Night.” Mine turned out not the greatest, and we ran out of white paint.

On Saturday, while the girls were out having a spa night, the boys made little peg dolls for a lesson on Sunday. Dad got a map of the world, and we made peg dolls to symbolize the different nations. It took us a long time to do, and although I wasn't there for the class, it was probably worth it.

I had a fun weekend down in Provo! Friday night, London and Ashton went with me to go shopping. Then we also got some dinner and ate it at London's place. I had a lot of fun with them.

I stayed the night at Ashton's and in the morning we got some breakfast, looked at some apartments that I'm considering living in when I move down to Provo, walked around BYU campus, and we ate at Brick Oven Pizza. I had a ton of fun with Ashton, and I'm grateful for him.

One of my mission companions, Elder Miranda, is up in Utah from Chile, so afterwards I met up with him, his brother, and another missionary from my mission to go bowling and play some pool.

It was awesome seeing and spending time with my former companion! I'm super excited for him being up here in Utah.

Since we now have two electric vehicles in the garage, we needed to make some adjustments to our charging arrangement. We already have one charger in the garage, and we use that for the Rivian now.

To create a second charger, I poked a hole in the wall between the laundry room and the garage, attached a 220V splitter, and created a “homemade” outlet in the garage. It works great.

The only challenge is that the splitter doesn’t automatically switch between the dryer in the laundry room and the car in the garage, and if the dryer is on when you try to charge the Tesla, the circuit breaker trips. To solve this problem, we have to make sure we don’t use the dryer when we are charging.

So I created this little keychain Tesla. When the car is charging, we hang this on the dryer, and when the dryer is running, we hang it out in the garage on the charging cable hook. Problem solved!
