VOLUME 12 – NUMBER 559

Brigham, Mckay, and Emma’s party

Kai

We just moved back in to the 2nd Ward, and I felt a little nervous, and outside of my comfort zone. I haven't seen most of my old friends from the 2nd Ward in almost two years, so I didn't really know if they would welcome me back, or care whether I was back or not.

I went to church, and I didn't really feel like my old friends wanted to be friends with me anymore, which was kind of discouraging. I went on through the day wondering what I could do to mend some of my relationships in the 2nd Ward.

Quinn and Joanna

On Wednesday Isaac and I had an idea to invite Crew and Nash Horner over. Nash was one of my old friends. We haven't really stayed in touch, other than saying "hi" to each other at church devotionals, and chatting a bit during parties. I thought it'd be nice to invite him over and just have some fun hanging out with him and Crew.

We had a great time. Isaac and I set up some monitors in our room so we could play video games. Crew introduced us to a new game called Stick Fight. It's kind of like Gang Beasts, but its quicker and you have guns. It's a pretty hilarious game! I had a great time hanging out with Nash and Crew, and I hope I can become friends again with some that I have lost.

Emma, Brigham, and Mckay had a combined birthday party on Saturday. All of their birthdays are within a month from each other, so Natalie and Nate usually combine them and make a super fun party for them!

The party was amazing! There were some good burgers there! We also played "Boom" a game Ashton and I created. If you know Zoom, it's just like that. We also played the game where you stand stiff and smack each others hands to try getting the other person to fall before you do. I've always loved that game, it's so fun!

Great party, Natalie and Nate! Happy Birthday Emma, Mckay, and Brigham!

Ladies and gentlemen! This will be the last newsletter that I write about going to see Spider-Man in theaters…maybe…well, no promises. This week was the final Spider-Man movie, and I wanted to finish it with a bang, so naturally I suited up, and went to the go see Spider-Man: No Way Home in my Spider-Man suit.

To make things better, we went to Walmart to get some snacks, and yes, I did go inside in my suit. I did end up getting a few people who asked be to take a picture with them, so that was cool.

The movie was so good like always, and I’m sad it’s come to an end, but it was a whole lot of fun, and I’m grateful for the friends that I was able to share this experience with.

On a side note, I saw a Tesla Cybertruck on the way home from work! It was weird seeing one so close to home.

Sadly, this week we said goodbye to Oakley, the Rivian. She will be missed. On the bright side, we have a new Tesla named Nico! He's pretty much just the Model Y version of Nick. My personal nickname for it is the Batmobile, because it's a really dark shade of gray, and it has black hub caps, making it look really sleek.

Nico will pretty much be Dad's car, while Mom will have Tessie now. I do have to say that having two Tesla's in the garage is a pretty cool thing to see.

Nico and Tessie in the garage

This week we bought a new Tesla and we sold the Rivian, Oakley, which is kind of sad but it is probably for the best for us because we were paying a lot for Oakley.

We also got to go to Natalie's and Nate’s birthday party for Emma, Mac, and Brigham. They had the same party because their birthdays are so close together. They had an inflatable bounce house with a waterslide, which I did not go in.

The food was delicious, and it was exciting and fun. I also liked the way up and back to their house because we saw a lot of scenery—good mountain views to look at, and get lost in thought.

Gloria and Veidi playing, watching dogs

For our youth night last week, we did a medical activity and learned about first aid. We learned how to use different things if someone was injured, and how to deal with it. We also learned what the pills do and when to use them.

Me, Gloria, Isaac, Kai, Riley, Caleb, Monte, and Troy played Fugitive and it was crazy! Caleb was the driver. The boys stayed together. and me, Gloria, and Riley stuck together. We got to the school and then Ethen and Nash gave us up so we got caught. We tried to find the boys, but we had no luck. We did help get Isaac, Troy, Monte, and Kai home and they won.

Emma, Mac, and Brigham had a birthday party. There was a water slide for anyone who wanted to get wet, delicious food, and It was pretty fun.

Mckay, Joanna, James at the birthday bash

We went to Emma, Mac, and Brigham’s birthday party. We played in the water slide and it was fun and refreshing because it was a hot day.

I went to play on the playground after getting wet. Then we had dinner. I had a hamburger, and then I had a chocolate drumstick, which was good. then we went home, and I had a fun time!

I've been traveling down to Provo more recently and looking for an apartment to move into later this month. I toured an apartment at a complex named Centennial, and decided to move in the day that I finish my radiation, which will be June 11.

My decision of when to move out was made pretty quickly, but I don't see any reason to wait more than I have to. I'm excited about moving out and moving forward.

Emma, Mckay, and Brigham's birthday party was on Saturday! Happy birthday to you three! It was fun seeing a lot of family there. I hadn't seen Dennis in a few years, so it was awesome to meet him and his little boy, Namari.

Selvin, Mattias, and Yarima

Nate cooked up a lot of delicious burgers, which were spectacular, so there was a lot of good food and fun. Then there was Brigham, who after the singing put the candle out with his hand, and seemed unfazed by the heat! Natalie, your kids are so cute!

Later on, we also did some chapel cleaning, which is actually lots of fun. On Sunday Elder Christopherson spoke at the stake conference. It was my first time having an apostle visit so closely and it's cool to see them as regular people who are called to do amazing things.

Children at Smith’s birthday party

This week the family went to Emma, Mackay, and Brigham's birthday party. It was really fun. It was really cute to see Sophia and Mateo on the water bounce house. I had a lot of fun playing Zoom, with a couple of people.

We also introduced a new rule called “boom and beek.” It just adds a rule where it skips a person if you say “boom,” and when you say “beek,” it sends it back the other way, but also skips a person. It's pretty fun, but also pretty chaotic.

The kids badly wanted to sell something, so they decided to make a stand, which they set up all up themselves. They originally wanted to sell cups of water for $10 each, and reuse one cup over and over so they didn’t have to do dishes! After some helpful advice from their mom, they ended up selling otter pops instead!

We went to Brigham, Emma’s, and Mac’s birthday party. There was a water slide. I fell a lot of times and the water was really cold. We celebrated their birthdays. Brigham blew his candle by placing his hand to put it out. There was ice cream and cake.

Then we played some more. I really wanted Troy to come and play, but he refused. Then Mateo came and played with me for a while, and we had hamburgers. I sat by Endia and Cougar while I ate. Me and Cougar got some chips. Then we went home.

Ellie and Charlie snuggling

We picked up our new Tesla on Monday, and Monte’s right. It’s pretty cool having two Teslas in the garage. Because the interiors of each car are almost identical, at times it’s not too hard to forget which car you’re in!

Jenny and I were grateful that we were able to sell the Rivian this week. We were a little worred about having an extra car payment for a while as we tried to sell it, but the first person that test drove the car ended up buying it! It’s a relief to have been able to successfully switch cars so quickly.
