VOLUME 13 – NUMBER 627

London and Keaton on wedding day

This week has been crazy in all the best ways! I’ve been finishing getting everything prepped for the reception while also moving all my stuff up to Keaton’s house. It’s honestly been a huge blessing that work has been pretty non-existent as our grant wraps up. My last day of work was on Thursday, and then the festivities began on Friday!

Everything went as smoothly as I could have hoped. We had so much help getting things set up that it was honestly a breeze.

Friday was busy all day, and it felt a little odd putting my wedding dress on and starting to greet guests with Keaton since we weren’t married yet. That feeling quickly went away and was replaced with excitement.

Wedding reception

I was surprised at how many people came to support us, and I loved being able to talk to so many of them. Although I think that part was a little harder for Keaton.

We were both exhausted from standing and talking for so long, so it was perfect to be able to jump in the pool and just relax for a bit. I’m so glad we decided to do the reception the night before our sealing.

It made Friday way less stressful because we had the whole day to prep, and it made the sealing on Saturday feel really peaceful and happy. Saturday morning, we had a lovely family breakfast at Steve and Penny’s.

Then Josie took a few more bridal pictures for us, and we headed off to the temple! I loved having the time before our sealing with just the two of us, and then to have Grandpa Arnold join us right before the ceremony.

It honestly still doesn’t feel quite real that this was for us, but it makes me beyond happy that I get to be with Keaton forever! After the sealing, we quickly got dressed and headed out for some quick pictures. We were really crunched for time to catch our flight, but because everything went so smoothly, we made it to the airport with more than enough time to fly to Spokane.

I’m so grateful for both of our incredible families and all the love and support we felt this special weekend!

London and Keaton’s wedding reception

I can’t believe the day finally came! For the past four months, since I proposed to London, I kept thinking the day we’d be married was forever away. London kept trying to convince me the day was so soon, but I just kept thinking it was never going to happen. Then this week finally came, and I’ve never been so happy in my life!

Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us. We had been planning out what we wanted the weekend to look like for a while and really hoped it would be fun and exciting for everyone there.

Planning the reception on a different day from the temple ceremony was totally worth it. We had all of Friday to prepare and get everything ready for the reception, so the next day we could focus on the covenant we were making with God.

London and Keaton coming out of temple

On Saturday, I woke up full of joy and excitement. As the time slowly approached to go to the temple, I started to feel nervous. Kneeling at the altar across from London, I felt so lucky to call her mine.

After the ceremony, we probably set a record for the fastest couple to change. For the record, neither of us ever mentioned our shorter schedule to Grandpa Arnold. We ended up having more than enough time for all the photos we wanted and still made it to the airport with plenty of time.

Thank you again, everyone, for your love and support as London and I begin our wonderful life adventure together.

Mom with London on her wedding day

What a wonderful week! It was so nice to have London and Keaton’s reception the night before their wedding. It worked perfectly. I even enjoyed pushing Dad into the pool and getting pulled in myself!

The evening was very magical. The scene and the setting and the weather couldn’t be more perfect. It was so nice to catch up with old friends and family, and to get to know Keaton’s family a little better. We are so thankful to all those who helped out with the arrangements.

Breakfast the next day at Keaton’s parents’ house was delicious! They were so generous to feed all of us. A favorite of the children (and Arkin) was the selection of flavored milk boxes (orange, banana, root beer, etc).

There were many people in attendance at the temple and ceremony was beautiful. Grandpa Hill performed the sealing, and following instructions he had received as a sealer, he kept his remarks simple and to the point—which ended up being a great help because Keaton and London had to catch a plane just a couple hours after the ceremony!

I am so happy that London has found a wonderful eternal companion in Keaton. They are such a cute couple, and I’m sure they will have many great adventures together. I love you London and Keaton!

On Tuesday, I went out to lunch with Aiden. It had been such a long time since we hung out, so I reached out to see if he wanted to. We went to Wendy’s, like always—that’s our favorite hangout spot.

It felt really different because Monte wasn’t there. We got to catch up and let each other know what’s going on in our lives.

On Wednesday night, Cougar and Endia invited Isaac and me to go bowling with them. I really enjoy bowling, and I think I’m pretty good at it.

Family at wedding reception

On Friday, we had Keaton and London’s reception at Amy’s house. Veidi and I helped prepare the cheesecakes, which was really fun just decorating. People started showing up, and our job was to make sure everything at the tables was restocked.

On Saturday morning, we went up to Keaton’s parents’ house for brunch. Afterwards, we went to the Syracuse Temple for their sealing. I was able to go inside for that, which was a really good experience.

Later that day, after the wedding was over, I hung out with Kade. We went mini golfing, then went to Shields for a little while, and finished by getting some ice cream.

Gloria in pool at reception

London and Keaton are officially married! It was such a fun couple of days this weekend. Mom was the life of the party on Friday when she started the jump fest into the pool. Natalie and I joined forces to try and throw everyone else at the party into the pool.

It only took three of us to get Isaac into the pool, and we barely managed to do it. I am so happy for London!

One cool thing this semester for school is that I am doing an internship for a social impact organization. The organization I was assigned to is SELCO India. It has been very interesting and honestly a pretty big learning experience trying to understand the culture and how different it is from ours.

Keaton and London’s wedding reception

London and Keaton were getting married this week, and I am so happy for them. Their wedding reception was really fun. We went a little earlier to help set things up. I helped with the mini cheesecakes, and it was fun decorating them. There were a lot of them too!

After we finished, we hurried back home to get ready. Then we went back to the reception, and it was so fun being there. I helped make sure there were always cheesecakes available. After a little while, Mom tried to push Dad in the pool, saying they were taking a picture, but they both ended up falling in!

I came to see what was going on, and they told me that Mom and Dad fell in. I was laughing, then I saw Natalie coming for me. I tried to run, but there was a chair in the way. It was too late—I got thrown in!

After that, a lot of people ended up in the pool. They threw Gloria in, which was pretty funny. They also threw Yaretzie in, and she was not happy about it. Then they threw Isaac in after chasing him for about ten minutes. Most of us ended up in the pool by the end. It was such a fun, crazy, and amazing night.

The next day was London’s wedding. We stayed outside with the little kids, keeping them occupied. When it was time, we all went up to clap and congratulate them as they came out. It was the best moment ever, just seeing them so happy.

Afterward, we took a bunch of pictures, and then they left for the airport for their honeymoon. The rest of us went back home, got dressed, and played games. It was an amazing week!

London and Keaton with Grandparents Miller

This week, London and Keaton (The Kruton) got married in the Syracuse Temple, and the reception was at Aunt Amy’s. There was cheesecake, which was so good—it was delicious! We also had street tacos, which were amazing, especially with the green sauce.

Almost everyone got thrown in the pool, and I got pushed in by Mom. For Isaac, we had to chase him around the neighborhood, but then Selvin, his friend, and Ashton had to carry him and throw him in. It was such a fun night. Congratulations, London and Keaton!

It was hard to get everything in when Endia and Cougar moved in. We had to lift heavy stuff to get it all inside. Cougar and I made the bed and put other things together. When we finally emptied the trailer, we cleaned up the room while Dad put in the TV.

Family at wedding reception

Maybe a week ago or so, I ran into my cousin Mary at the Harold B. Lee Library while doing school. Then this Sunday, I went over to her place with a couple of friends and watched The Chosen. My ward got together and played volleyball on Monday. I met up with some guys and played basketball on Tuesday.

Then it was London’s and Keaton’s wedding and reception! I love both of them so much, and they make such a sweet couple. The reception was fun, with amazing food and little pies. Swimming in the pool while dressed up was also a highlight. I’m pretty sure I was trying to throw Brigham into the pool, but he grabbed my shirt or neck, so I was forced to jump in with him!

The next morning was super special. We drove up to Keaton’s parents’ house, had waffles, and played some football in the backyard while all dressed up. Brigham even got into Keaton’s parents’ tomato garden! The sealing was very beautiful, and we took pictures afterward. Love you, London, and welcome, Keaton, to the family!

Breakfast at Keaton’s parents’ house

Yet another amazing week has passed by in a flash! I really enjoyed this week, and there’s a bit to talk about, so get cozy, grab some popcorn, maybe get a soda, and enjoy the email! Lights, camera, action!

There is no Laura and Jesús update today. Yeah, we had to let them go for now because they just weren’t progressing. They’re both ready to be baptized; it’s just that they need to either leave each other or get married.

Until they do one of those things, there isn’t much we can really do. Also, they may or may not be getting married tomorrow…pero quien sabe.

I just want to talk a bit about my shoes for a second. Lately, my shoes have been taking a beating. When you use them every day for all hours, that tends to happen.

The only thing is, my right shoe is so much more wrecked than my left one! I have no idea how that happened because it’s not like I walk more with my right foot than my left. Just a random, weird thought for you guys.

Today, we were able to go see the ruins of San Gervasio. They are so cool, and Ai may or may not have gotten eaten alive by mosquitoes! Just one of the perks of living on Cozumel.

Monte and Elder Larson

This week was Elder Larson’s birthday, and let’s just say it was crazy. We went to the bishop’s house, and there we learned how to make empanadas. Oh, and we also ate like eight each, so that was good. After that, we went to visit Minerva and Emily, and they had a little cake and a present for Elder Larson.

We then went to help Astrid “move a heavy box.” Yeah, she threw a little “surprise” party for Elder Larson with Williams, Jared, Ali, Valeria, and Mielka. We definitely saw it coming. It was pretty cool though, and Astrid even made a cheesecake for Elder Larson. It’s so cool to have friends to come back to in two years.

Monte and Elder Larson with friends

While we’re on the topic of Astrid, something really interesting happened. Elder Larson has been on Cozumel for six months and is most likely leaving next week.

He also baptized Astrid about five months ago, and this week he received a letter from her. Elder Larson’s legit reaction was, “Crap…” Yeah, she gave him a love letter, and he does not feel the same way. Ni modos. Just a crazy thing that happened this week.

Now it’s time to talk about our friends. Estefania and Royer are moving toward getting baptized. We’ve been able to bring some members from the ward to their house for lessons, and they’ve been amazing in helping Estefania and Royer have friends in the Church. This week, the members (Gebrán and Justine) invited Estefania and Royer to a devotional, and they went!

London and Keaton’s wedding reception

Not only that, but after the devotional, the other Elders on the island were having a baptism, and Estefania asked if they could watch it. Bet! They stayed for the whole service, and at the end, Royer turned to Elder Larson and said, “That was incredible.” That’s what I’m talking about! Then they came to church on Sunday as well. Things are looking really good for them.

Emily is also getting baptized this Saturday! While we were meeting with her and helping her plan, she told us she wanted me to baptize her and for Elder Larson to do the confirmation.

I’m so hyped! Everything is ready on our end—just a few little things we need to go over with her, and she’ll be all set. Saturday is going to be an amazing day!

London and Keaton with parents

One of the greatest blessings of my life is to see a daughter married to a good man. I have often prayed and fasted for this very blessing, and I am so grateful to Heavenly Father for allowing Keaton and London to find each other!

London, I am so happy for you! It’s fun to think back to when we called you our “Little Hershey’s Kiss” (London was born with dark skin and very dark hair). And now, all of a sudden, you are a grown woman, ready to start off with your own family. Congratulations!

To you and Keaton, and to all my children, I promise you that as you put Jesus Christ at the center of your life, and strive to follow the covenant path by keeping His commandments, you will find great happiness and endless blessings. I love you Lubby!
